Val Hur

After years working as a critical care nurse in fast-paced emergency departments, Val joined us at Moonee Valley Specialist Centre. She loves our emphasis on high-quality care, which means she can spend more time with each patient.

Val leads our Fibroscan service. This is a medically validated, non-invasive liver scan that provides immediate results and enables early detection of any liver concerns. When she completes a Fibroscan session, Val’s able to reassure some patients, advise others on lifestyle change and liaise with our doctors about ongoing care for those with identified liver disease. She also communicates with a patient’s GP and any others in their healthcare team.

After so many years seeing patients with late-stage disease, Val loves using her wealth of knowledge to help people protect their future health.

Val is practically part of the family at Moonee Valley Specialist Centre. She, Nicole and Nathan have been friends and colleagues for over 20 years. Those close relationships underpin a strong sense of teamwork.
